In an effort to emphasize the season of Thanksgiving, I encourage you to celebrate it all through the month of November. Yesterday I explained my 21 Days of Giving Thanks challenge, which you can read about here. Today let’s give thanks for one specific part of our government.
Day 2 – Give Thanks for the Military
This holiday season countless men and women, some who are friends and family, will spend their holidays away from home. We will enjoy our precious freedoms; they will protect them. We will sleep in warm beds; they will lay in anxious watchfulness. We will enjoy rich, bountiful meals; they will eat MRE’s. We will enjoy our favorite Thanksgiving movies and traditions; they will think about surviving for the next day. We will spend time with friends and family; they will dream of flying home.
To all those in the military, either active, reserve, or retired, I want to say thank you. Praise God we enjoy such peace and privileges, and it is only because of your sacrifice and service on our behalf.
To all of us, here’s today’s challenge.
Challenge: Take time to thank someone in the military, whether active, reserve, or retired. Ask them how you can pray for them.
