Merry Christmas to you and yours! I wish I had more opportunities to blog recently, but instead I have been busy working on a new hymn for Christmas. A few months ago the Getty team launched their inaugural Hymn Writing Collective. It was a dream come true for me to take part and learn from some of the best hymn writers in our generation. Originally I began writing songs out of a desire to create modern hymns for the church, and this Hymn Collective has helped equip me to that end. If you are at all interesting in songwriting for the church, I would encourage you to check it out.
I also would encourage you to listen to my new hymn and consider if it could be useful in your church. I realize today is Christmas, so most churches won’t need a new Christmas hymn for another year. But worship leaders are always thinking ahead, so I hope you will recommend this one to your church leadership (if you like it!).
